Consultants - Responsible for investment manager selection and performance measurement for plan sponsors.
Sales/Marketing - Responsible for client and account coverage or new business development.
Trading - Trades client, fund, or house accounts (buy side) or offers securities to clients for a commission (sell side).
Security Analysts/Portfolio Managers - Responsible for analysis and recommendation of equity and fixed income securities; or responsible for primary investment decisions, client contact and performance.
Supervisors/Managers - Supervise professionals performing any of the above functions.
Treasurers/Assistant Treasurers - Responsible for investing corporate funds.
Investor Relations - Represents her employer as primary contact for outside investors.
Economists - Employed by a member of the investment community to perform economic analysis or by a college or university to teach MBA or Finance classes.
Investment Banking - Professionals engaged in corporate or public finance, venture capital or project finance.
Law - Attorneys engaged in investment banking, investment management, or corporate securities.
