Dear members and prospective members,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 LAAIW season!
It is that time of year again and I do not believe how fast the summer has flown by. I am anticipating another great year with LAAIW and look forward to serving a second term as President. We have two new members joining the board. I would like to welcome Trina Patel and Dana Kittrelle. Returning to our board in a new capacity as Vice President is Kelly Alexander, who already has been a tremendous help planning and coordinating our upcoming season. Also continuing as Treasurer is Stacy Feit, who last year kept the membership in line with our budgeting process.
Earlier this year we wished Suzanne Kaiser success in her new position in Portland, Oregon. Suzanne, in the Vice Presidency role, made significant contributions in finding fantastic speakers, making web improvements and bringing new members with her Happy Hour concept. Natalie Maniaci will also not be returning as a board member where she served as Secretary but I sincerely hope she decides to rejoin the following season. Thank you both Suzanne and Natalie for all of your hard work and dedication to making this year a great success.
I was sorry to miss so many of you at our annual kickoff/membership drive on September 16, 2010 at the Biltmore Millennium. It is always very nice to see returning faces and meeting new members interested in learning more about LAAIW. Over the past few years this has been a great platform to build relationships with returning members and hearing about the benefits of this organization. However, I hope more of you will be able to make it for our November 2010 meeting.
